Setting the Direction for 2026: Investment & Growth

Following a record-breaking performance in 2025, MAC Surfacing enters 2026 with clarity of purpose and renewed ambition for further success.
Last year delivered strong growth, operational milestones and significant progress across the business, but the focus now is firmly on what comes next.
Rather than standing still celebrating a strong previous 12-months, the company is pushing forward with a clear plan centred on strategic investment, quality led growth, and an unwavering commitment to the MAC Way of working.
2026 is about building momentum, strengthening foundations, and continuing to raise standards for customers.
Not Standing Still
2025 set a new benchmark for MAC Surfacing in terms of performance and delivery. It validated long term decisions around leadership, investment and culture. However, the approach for 2026 is not one of consolidation alone. The focus is continuous improvement, asking how every part of the business can be sharper, safer, and more reliable.
This mindset underpins the strategy for the year ahead, with every decision measured against how it improves service, enhances quality on site, and delivers long term value to clients.
Fleet and Plant Investment
A central pillar of the 2026 plan is significant investment in fleet and plant, ensuring MAC Surfacing continues to operate with some of the most capable and reliable equipment in the sector.
The company is bolstering its planer fleet with the addition of a Wirtgen W210XF and a Wirtgen W100Fi, strengthening its ability to deliver high production outputs alongside precision milling. These machines represent the latest in planer technology and align with MAC Surfacing’s focus on consistency, safety and quality.
Surfacing capability will also be enhanced through the arrival of three new Vögele S1803-5X pavers. These high specification machines support improved mat quality, greater efficiency and increased reliability across a wide range of schemes.
Transport investment continues with two Volvo FH13 8×4 tippers scheduled to arrive in March 2026, supporting logistics resilience and reducing the risk of downtime on critical projects.
Alongside major plant additions, MAC Surfacing will be placing significant orders for approximately fifteen new surfacing crew vans and additional rollers. These ongoing upgrades are designed to support growing operational demand while maintaining maximum uptime and site standards.
Recent visits to key manufacturers, including Wirtgen, form part of a hands-on approach to investment decisions, ensuring new machinery meets the real-world demands of MAC Surfacing projects.
People: The MAC Way
While investment in machinery is vital, MAC Surfacing remains clear that people sit at the heart of its success. Recruitment will continue through 2026, but with a deliberate focus on quality rather than quantity.
The business is actively seeking surfacing professionals who take pride in their craft and value the investment MAC Surfacing makes in its teams. The MAC Way is built on professionalism, ownership, and a customer-first mindset. It is about doing the job properly, not simply getting the shift done.
Teams that align with this philosophy understand that long term quality, safety, and reputation matter just as much as productivity; Welcome to the MAC way.
Strategic Growth
Growth in 2026 will be carefully structured and supported by the right infrastructure. MAC Surfacing is currently in negotiations for an additional depot within the West Midlands, aimed at increasing regional density and improving response times.
This potential expansion is a direct result of the momentum generated in 2025 and forms a key part of the wider strategy for 2026 and beyond. By strengthening its regional footprint, the company can deliver a more responsive, sustainable and high-quality service while maintaining national capability.
Any expansion will be rooted in operational control and service excellence, ensuring that growth enhances the customer experience rather than diluting standards.
Moving forward in 2026…
The strategy for 2026 reflects a business that is thriving, but not complacent. MAC Surfacing is investing heavily, expanding selectively, and continuing to refine how it operates, all while staying true to the values that underpin the MAC Way.
